Elmshorn Industrial Museum
Terminal project
The central function is the search and display of objects stored in the museum database. In addition to this task, the special exhibition "Home is for me" is also displayed, in which visitors temporarily contributed objects that they associated with "home". The previous special exhibition has thus found a permanent place in the regular collection in digital form.
The geologically unique Lieth limestone quarry is also presented in detail via the terminal. With a large number of historical and geological documents, this presentation offers a lively insight into geological formations that otherwise lie at a depth of 5,000 metres and - unique in Europe - come to light in Elmshorn.
The terminal presentation is rounded off by various audio and video contributions about Elmshorn, both historically and today.
The Elmshorn Industrial Museum is involved in the DigiCult project, which aims to safeguard the cultural heritage of Schleswig-Holstein. The terminal solution created here can therefore also be used cost-effectively by other museums in the northernmost federal state.
