Visitors can feel the flavour of the Middle Ages in rooms steeped in history. In addition, xpedeo uses videos, audio recordings and photos to tell exciting details about the lives of knights and nobles at the time: how they slept, celebrated and hunted. But it also provides insights into the lives of ordinary people, farmers and craftsmen.
And all this in German, English and Dutch.
We replaced the previously non-functional system of another provider and used the existing WLAN infrastructure to offer visitors precise indoor localisation. Navigation takes place via clear floor plans across the entire site.
Altena Castle is one of the most beautiful hilltop castles in Germany. It is internationally renowned above all for the world's first permanent youth hostel, which was inaugurated within its historic walls in 1914. It can still be visited today as a museum in its original state.
