2024

Xpedeo has been in use at the Landesmuseum Hannover since 2007 and has guided visitors through over a dozen exhibitions since then. Initially on PDAs, later on smartphone-based rental devices and now as a web app on the visitor's own device. The museum's creative team is always coming up with exciting applications: for example, there has already been an atmospheric guided tour or an individual catalogue to print out.

In addition to the tried-and-tested rental devices, the mobile solution is also available as a web app: So if you fancy an inspiring stroll around the world, you can experience it virtually at any time and from anywhere. 360° panoramas of the rooms bring the collection to your own device in miniature format and conjure up a completely personalised experience.

"Thanks to xpedeo, the museum visit experience is much more attractive - for every age group."

Dennis von Wildenradt, Head of Communication & Cultural Education - Landesmuseum Hannover

Our solution is also aimed at children and young people in particular. This is because the Landesmuseum Hannover is also increasingly using games that we have conceived, designed and programmed especially for the museum.

Another feature shows how independent our customers remain in their work: the contributions to the guided tours are often formulated and recorded by the education team themselves.

in 2024, for example, we realised a children's tour on the topic of archaeology for the Mediaguide, in which Fredi, a bat-pig bear, guides you from the Stone Age to the Roman Empire. You learn exciting things about how tombs were built back then, the development of tools and living conditions and the work of an archaeologist.

For the special exhibition "Treasure Keeper. 200 Years of the Hanover Monastery Chamber", which opened on 20 April 2018, we were responsible for the complete graphic design of the new guided tour as well as the conception, design and implementation of two mini-games. The globally unique treasure of Lower Saxony's monasteries can now be admired in multimedia form!

The museum

The Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover, with its impressive collections of archaeology, natural history, ethnology and the Landsgalerie, is one of the oldest civic museums and one of the largest of its kind.

It was founded in 1852 as a museum of art and science and offers a wide range of natural, artistic and cultural history, from dinosaur finds to live animals in the vivarium, from the early cultures of Lower Saxony to German Impressionism.
