The castle is part of the Cultural Foundation of the House of Hesse, which runs a museum inside the castle.
In around 60 rooms, each of which tells its own story and has its own unique character, visitors can admire a diverse collection of 18th and 19th century furniture and interior design. There are rococo ceilings that have been preserved from the time of construction, a precious porcelain collection comprising over 1800 individual pieces and one of the most valuable private collections of antique art.
