It’s true to say that the Romans left Trier hundreds of years ago but architectural elements prove their long-term presence. With mobile apps we helped to revive the roman remains in three different projects.

Admittedly, the Romans left Trier centuries ago. What remains are the architectural witnesses to their presence, which was soon to last for many years. We have already helped to bring Roman heritage to life via mobile applications in several projects:

At the Porta Nigra, the old Roman city gate, 100 mobile devices guide visitors through the building and visualise the former state of construction using three-dimensional reconstructions. These were realised by the Dießenbacher company. If all the devices are sold out on busy days, visitors can also access the information on their own smartphones via the mobile website we developed.

The Imperial Baths, an ancient Roman bathing complex, can now also be explored with xpedeo, as can the amphitheatre. Instead of using rental devices, visitors can dial into the existing WLAN and access the information on their own smartphone.
